How to schedule social media posts from ChatGPT

Connect ChatGPT to Postbroad's hosted MCP server, then plan, draft and schedule posts for every network from a chat, with a preview first.

· The Postbroad team

ChatGPT is good at writing posts. Getting those posts onto LinkedIn, Bluesky or Instagram at the right time is the part it can't do alone. With a connector to Postbroad, it can: ChatGPT drafts, Postbroad checks and schedules, and you decide.

What you need

  • A Postbroad account with at least one brand and one connected channel.
  • ChatGPT with connectors. Depending on your ChatGPT plan, you may need to turn on developer mode first.
  • The Postbroad MCP address: https://app.postbroad.com/mcp.

Connect ChatGPT to Postbroad

  • In ChatGPT, open Settings, then Connectors.
  • Create a connector with the address https://app.postbroad.com/mcp.
  • Sign in to Postbroad when asked, and choose the brands this connection may touch.
  • Add the connector to a chat and ask: "List my Postbroad brands."

If the brands come back, you are connected. That first request only reads, so it is safe to try. The ChatGPT setup page has the same steps with notes.

Plan a week of posts

Start with a request that only proposes:

Prompt
Plan next week for the brand Northwind. The week starts Monday.
Look at what is already on the calendar and propose a draft for
each free slot. Do not schedule anything.

ChatGPT reads the brand, its channels and the calendar, finds the free slots, and proposes drafts. You pick the ones you like, and only then are they saved as drafts in Postbroad.

Schedule with a preview

When you ask ChatGPT to schedule a draft, Postbroad first returns a preview: the text for each network, the checks, and any problem such as an image that is too large for Instagram. ChatGPT shows it to you. Reply yes and the post is scheduled. If the brand needs approval, ChatGPT gets a review link instead and stops there.

Each agent connection also has a mode. The default is needs approval, so an agent's posts wait for a person. You can change that per connection.

Check what went live

Prompt
What failed yesterday for Northwind? For each network, tell me
what happened and what I can do.

Postbroad keeps a state for each network, so ChatGPT can tell a post that is live with a link from one that was only accepted, one that failed, and one whose outcome is unknown. It will not send an unknown post again, because it may already be live.
